Founded in 2013, Home Advantage Builders LLC is a collaboration between Chuck Thompson of Home Advantage Construction and Mary Richter of Richter Renovations.
We are a licensed and insured general contractor committed to delivering high-quality craftsmanship and personalized service to the Philadelphia area.

Meet our Team
Chuck THompson
South Jersey native Chuck Thompson began working for his father's construction company at the age of 11. An industrious young man, he designed, built, and sold furniture out of the Burlington City High School wood shop. He opened his own business at 21.

Chuck has extensive experience in custom and new home construction. He's a three-time national award winner for pool & spa addition designs.
​
Chuck has two grown sons and lives in West Philadelphia with his dog, Eleanor. He's looking forward to his first grandchild in September.
Mary Richter
Growing up in Carlisle, PA, Mary Richter was her dad's carpentry assistant as soon as she was tall enough to reach the table saw.​
​
She passed the Philadelphia Carpenters Union exam, but found the union still hostile to women. She set out to build a woman-owned construction company: Richter Renovations. After 10 years in the business, Mary has taken on admin responsibility at Home Advantage Builders.
​
Mary lives in West Philadelphia with one dog, one cat, and a beautiful lot next door that she wants to rescue from developers and turn into a garden. She spends her free time volunteering for women's & environmental causes.
